Flowood Chamber Open House

Thanks to all who visited with us at the Library. We had a blast. There were displays and lots of ribs and sushi!

Winner of the first door prize is Entry # 108 Marcus Casano.

Marcus won a very nice fleece blanket with the PFE logo laser etched. Call it an emergency blanket if his heat goes out. Then he can call us to repair it!

Check back for more door prize winners to be posted daily.

The Best AC Service ?

PFE30 offers the best ac service for residential customers according to surveys done by DCSurveys group. As of 9/2008, PFE30 has received a 100% referral approval rating. This statistic indicates a 100% approval and recommendation rating!

Thank you, existing customers, for that feedback. Yes, we do have mistakes from time to time, but we’ll admit it, fix it, and do whatever it takes to keep it from happening again. And, if it’s our fault, you won’t pay for it, unlike some other companies around town…that is, if they’re still around!

American Standard Visit in Tyler, TX

Just finished a plant tour of the American Standard manufacturing facility in Tyler.  It was very impressive to see the testing area called SEET.

It was interesting to note that competitor’s units are purchased and tested to American Standard requirements.  Many of those unit fail to make it through the test.

The American Standard units that we use, exclusively, are the best field tested and time proven systems made today.

A $ 4000 Mistake…

john_ruskin

Made a proposal on a system replacement and was told that I was $ 4000 higher than the competition.  I informed the homeowner that was fine, because you have to look at the differences…

Other Guys quoted a 4 ton G**dman AC/80% Furnace system

PFE30 proposed a Manual J sized American Standard Dual Fuel system with IAQ Thermostat

Other Guys quoted  R22 refrigerant (FREON)

PFE30 proposed a R410a refrigerant (2010 compliant)

The PFE30 system would be correctly sized to remove MORE water from the air and provide more comfort,  As such, its operating cost would be 25% less.  The homeowner would have the option of either “free” heat in the winter or natural gas heat.  It would be their choice to chose one or go back and forth.  PFE30 would  install a $ 350 Honeywell IAQ touch-screen thermostat.  PFE30 would be installing the #1 rated, field-tested, time-proven equipment.

The homeowner was leaning toward builder type equipment, even considering ordering the equipment from an internet company like AC Direct.  Upon inquiring about the system, the homeowner wanted to order a 95% furnace for the house.  Big problem!  That furnace requires special vent plumbing that would require $ 1500 in carpentry and roofing work.  Also, no local equipment supplier will warranty the equipment, because doing so cuts out their existing customer base.

Hmm, $ 1500 in additional work, no warranty, installed by no reputable contractor- more than likely, future expense, $ 3000 or more, after 1.5 years when the refrigerant changes and either the coil or outside unit fails and you can’t get the “old” equipment any more!

I think the mail-order company will warranty the equipment.  Figure out how to do that from 500 miles away?

Did I mention higher utility bills ($1000 or so, over 4 years) and less comfort (higher humidity)?

Summary (over 4 years):   $ 1500 Carpentry+$ 3000 equipment+$1000 = $ 5200 vs $ 4000 !

Back to Normal

Lots of rain and a few tornado drills

It’s time to dry out.
