Live and Learn…

Someone asked me the other day, “how we save people money?” My answer is by doing it right the first time. For example, I just left a fine gentleman’s new construction home. No, we didn’t get the job. So, there are no sour grapes from me. Let’s just look at the facts:

PFE30 load calculation 5.5 tons (15-20 yr lifetime)
Big time new construction install 8 tons (9 yr lifetime)

Oversized and helping the utility companies’ bottom line.   Two and a half tons oversized!

Oh, the price difference – we’re cheaper on overall cost!  We’re cheaper today and tomorrow, when the “builder grade” equipment needs replacement in 9 years or so, on (national) average.

PFE30 gives you 30% or more energy savings.   For 30% less!

PFE30 Joins The Chamber of Flowood

Thanks to Marcus Casano of Mortgage Consultants for recommending us to the chamber.

We’re looking forward to meeting all of the members!

PFE30 featured on Kim Wade show…

I had the privilege of sitting down with Jackson radio talk show host Kim Wade last Tuesday to discuss some of the benefits of PFE30 and to take some calls from some of Kim’s listeners. Kim Wade broadcasts M-F on WJNT AM 1180 in Jackson, MS. You can find part 1 of 5 of the full hour of the program below…

Other Ways to Save On Your Energy Bills…

Two things I did to save money: One, I bought a “Dave Ramsey” mobile from Joey’s brother. Joey Huff works with me at PFE. It’s a 2002 Honda Accord with a pretty messed-up hood and front bumper. However, it drives without any flaws and gets 30 mpg even with the ac blowing full blast. It’s already saved me over $ 280 dollars last month in gas. Yes, the Nissan Titan has 300 hp but only gets about 14 mpg on the road. It’s kinda odd to charge up a system while working out of the back of a Honda Accord. I usually use the Titan, but when it’s out on service calls, the Honda is the only vehicle left.

Two, I bought a Fuji Sunfire bicycle today from Jim over at Ride South. It gets unlimited mpg! I had a checkup with Dr. Richard Russell this past Thursday, and he advised me to work on lowering my total cholesterol number. I don’t like statin drugs, or any drugs for that matter. So, the bicycle is part of my regimen. And, I need to distribute out about 3000 PFE30 door hanger magnets in my spare time!

Dirty Coils – How To Make Friends With Your Utility Company

Pay more money for your electricity and get less cooling. Gee whiz, what a deal! If you do not change out your filters regularly, and even if you do and have return d

uct leaks, the picture above may represent what you have in your home. Every two years, evaporator coil cleaning should be evaluated.

Or, your utility company will just love you sending them more money! Cheers!

Removing Non-condensables

Why you should use PFE30.  We always pull vacuums!  Non-condensables lower tonnage performance and can lead to acid damage to your system.

Summer’s here…

Already the phone is ringing! For awhile, I was wondering about all of the moderate weather. It just took some time to warm-up, and I expect this summer to be a warm one. We’ll see.

Found another system today with an extreme case of non-condensables. It was of special interest because my vacuum pump died while in Bay St. Louis this past weekend (see the previous post). Anyway, I bought a new one to try out, and it didn’t take long to have a need for its use.

Non-condensable air and other gases lower your ac performance and leads to premature failure as the moisture from the air causes the “freon” components of chlorine and fluorine to form hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acids. Bye, bye, metal parts. Acids like that eat you up.

A Special Start-up In Bay St. Louis, MS

Practically Free Energy had the honor to work with the MS Baptist Recovery organization and FBC-Jackson Missions to provide air conditioning and heating installation for Patricia Tarver. Patricia, obviously a Katrina survivor, is so thankful to everyone involved. It was a special blessing to be a part of this installation.

Volunteers from First Baptist Jackson helped install low leakage ductwork and a new American Standard heat pump system. The results: Just Awesome! It cools, dehumidifies, and runs in almost total silence. Team members from FBC-Jackson and MS Baptist Recovery commented on the quietness of the system.

PFE30 included the heat pump system and ZeroDraft polyurethane foam sealing for air tightness. A digital, programmable thermostat was also included. This is a TXV system that measured 10.9 degress subcool – a near perfect setup of R22 (freon) refrigerant. Patricia Tarver received a system that outperforms most Bridgewater (Ridgeland, MS) installations. We’re so happy to share the PFE30 love: comfortable air and low energy bills!  She deserves it and our continued prayers for full recovery.
