Just got back from Minneapolis for the funeral of Eugene Sit. Without a doubt, the wealthiest of anyone in my family tree, Uncle Eugene gave so much to the community including the veterans of the Iraq and Afgan war. He founded a fund that help Minnesota veterans in need after their service. Some of you may know that Eugene worked at IDS and then founded his firm, Sit Investments and the Sit Mutual Funds held by many institutions around the country. A passionate entreprenuer, Eugene was an inspiration to all businessmen. It was interesting to hear a few remarks by Ret. Gen. John Vessey. I had remembered the name, but couldn’t place him. After a Google search, I found out that he was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under late President Reagan.
Please say a prayer for Gail and family, as they deal with this loss of life and as they celebrate his heavenly entrance.
On a side note, it was 87 degrees in Minnesota. Hot for the local, nice summer weather for us Southerners. The humidity was very low. On the return flight, I was greeted to 84 degree weather in Dallas. It was do hot and muggy. Welcome home?!
